WWII Pabst Beer Flat Top

USBC 111-25 Withdrawn Free of Internal Revenue tax for Exportation. Pabst Brewing Company, Milwaukee, WI

This is the first can issued after WWII and has a Olive Drab lid installed at the Brewery.

The last few months of WWII, life in the U.S. was getting back to normal. Breweries still had to provide beer cans to the armed forces, but the need for Olive Drab cans ended with combat. Issued right after WWII in late 1945, this is Withdrawn Free can was issued overseas to the Army. In this case the lid reads "Disregard Statement Withdrawn Free of Internal Revenue Tax For Exportation, Internal Revenue Tax Paid" on the olive drab lid so this particular can was made as the war was ending.
