WWII OD High Profile Blatz Cone Top
USBC 153-24 Withdrawn Free of Internal Revenue tax for Exportation. Blatz Brewing Co. Milwaukee, WI
This can is one of my favorites in my collection.
This High Profile cone is very rare, much more so than it's J-Spout counter part. I suspect both were primarily distributed to the Dept of Navy 1942-45. This can was consumed by a Sailor named Robert Leo Walton on a ship in celebration of Victory over Japan day. All the sailor's abord were given an issue of beer in celebration of the end of the war according to the letter from Robert's widow (pictured below) that came with the can. I also have a picture of the J-Spout Blatz OD being consumed by sailors at the end of the war as well.
